When a team scores 14 runs in a game, offense is obviously the story. And with so many contributions, including four home runs by four different Dodgers, there are so many stories within the story.

But Andrew Toles, who didn’t start, nor did he homer, tends to stand out.

Toles, who tore his ACL nearly 10 months ago, was 2-for-2 on Saturday in the Dodgers’ 14–6 win against Arizona at Camelback Ranch — Glendale with two of the most challenging types of hits.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Toles shot a liner into the left-center field gap for a triple. In the eighth, the left fielder hit a grounder that Arizona second baseman Jack Reinheimer dove for and backhanded, but Toles legged out the throw to first base for an infield single.

Toles is now 5-for-14 this spring.

After Toles’ triple, Jake Peter tripled. Then in the eighth inning, Peter followed Toles with a two-run homer. Peter, who was acquired in the three-team trade that brought the Dodgers left-handed reliever Scott Alexander on Jan. 4, has now homered in three consecutive games.

The 24-year-old infielder is 5-for-8 with three homers and nine RBI in the three games.

The homers

The Dodgers scored six runs in the first inning, sparked by a two-run homer by Matt Kemp — his second of the spring. Catcher Kyle Farmer followed two batters later with a solo home run.

Justin Turner hit his second homer of the spring in the fourth. Peter capped things off with his two-run blast.

Farmer, with his 2-for-3 day, is now 7-for-11 this spring.

Two-hit club

Seven Dodgers had two hits each in the game — Toles, Turner, Peter, Farmer, Yasiel Puig, Matt Beaty and Keibert Ruiz.

Ruiz, the Dodgers’ №3 prospect, laced two singles to right field.

Wood and Chargois

Alex Wood started and went 2 1/3 innings, allowing three hits, a walk and two earned runs, while striking out three.

Wood allowed a leadoff double to Rey Fuentes in the first inning, but came back to strike out the side. He exited after walking Fuentes in the third inning, who later came around to score with Brian Schlitter on the mound.

In the fourth inning, right-hander J.T. Chargois retired all three batters he faced, striking out two and throwing nine pitches — all strikes. The Dodgers claimed Chargois from Minnesota on Feb. 23, giving him a spot on the 40-man roster.
