In honor of Dominican Heritage Night at Dodger Stadium, TV personality Julissa Bermudez threw out the first pitch.
The Dodger Blue Wishes Program teamed up with Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant a special Blue Wish for Abigail Silva. She threw out the ceremonial first pitch to her favorite player, Kiké Hernández.
Cody Bellinger singled and scored Max Muncy in the bottom of the first. He later scored on an error by the Pirates to give the Dodgers a 2–0 lead.
Tonight’s Military Hero of the Game was Retired United States Army Captain, Katherine Robinson from Syracuse, New York.
Bellinger hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning. Matt Kemp then scored on a grounder from Yasiel Puig to give the Dodgers a 4–1 lead over the Pirates.
The Dodgers scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on back-to-back home runs from Joc Pederson and Muncy. Justin Turner later scored on an RBI single from Kemp, who then scored on an RBI single from Chris Taylor. Puig then doubled in Taylor to give the Dodgers a 10–1 lead.
The Dodgers scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth after Yasmani Grandal drew a bases-loaded walk, an RBI single from Taylor and an RBI single from Puig.
Kemp hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. Puig then doubled in Grandal to make it 17–1, Dodgers.
