If you’ve ever visited the Dodger Insider blog or picked up a copy of the Dodger Insider magazine, you’ve seen the work of longtime Dodger team photographer Jon SooHoo.

As the Dodgers play April 21 in Arizona, SooHoo will be back home being honored for his lengthy body of work as he’s inducted into the John Marshall High School Athletic Hall of Fame as a “pillar of achievement” for his work in sports photography.

SooHoo graduated in 1980 from John Marshall in Los Feliz, just a few-minute drive from Dodger Stadium, where he’d end up calling home for more than 30 years as the team’s photographer. At Marshall, SooHoo was an all-league basketball player and member of the track and field team before going to USC.

He’ll join a list of Marshall Hall of Fame members that includes football Hall of Famer Mike Haynes, Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid and USC radio announcer Pete Arbogast.

Marshall’s never had a Major League Baseball player in the school’s 86-year history, although Vic Mastro was slated to be the Yankees’ Opening Day catcher in 1949 before breaking his collarbone late in spring training. That didn’t work out great, as a catcher by the name of Yogi Berra replaced him.

This compilation of SooHoo photos from his blog of the Dodgers’ last home game encapsulates everything about the Dodgers’ 4–2 win against the Rockies.
