Kirk Gibson threw out the ceremonial first pitch before Thursday’s Opening Day game against the Giants.

Before doing so, the Dodgers played a tribute video in the stadium featuring celebrity appearances and Vin Scully’s iconic call of Gibson’s 1988 World Series Game 1 walk-off home run.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of that year, Gibson then re-enacted the moment Thursday afternoon. He walked out of the dugout and took a couple swings in the on-deck circle. The Dodgers had the same bat on the field he used to hit the legendary home run. He then delivered a strike on a first pitch to Orel Hershiser.

“You changed all of our lives,” Hershiser said to Gibson.

Rather than go into any more detail, here’s a look at moment.
